Hanging set pieces, scaffolding, overhead lighting effects. Height matters in music videos more than in any other type of production. At 4-5 m the ceiling ends up in frame. At 9 m you have complete freedom of composition.

A music video shot in a studio needs predictable logistics: stable power for strong lights, quiet between takes, a separate space for dancers and artists during breaks, and quick access for the art department between looks. What kinds of music videos are shot at RED Studio
The RED Studio stage has hosted pop, urban, manele and hip-hop music videos, with crews of 10 to 50 people. The infrastructure is the same regardless of genre: 700 m², 9 m height, lights on a rig, drive-in access and dedicated spaces for make-up and wardrobe. If your treatment involves a built set, multiple looks or a large number of dancers, the stage handles the production without improvisation.

Not every music video needs 700 m². If you're shooting 1-2 looks with a crew of 10-20 people, half the stage gives you exactly the space you need, without paying for square footage you won't use.

Questions about shooting music videos
How much does it cost to shoot a music video at RED Studio?
It depends on the size of the production. For large crews with multiple looks and a set across a big area, the full stage rate (700 m², 12 h) is 1,250 EUR + VAT. For focused productions - 1-2 looks, a crew of 10-20 people - the ~350 m² stage costs 800 EUR + VAT/day and includes the same facilities: make-up, lounge, dressing rooms, parking. The lighting rig with 5× ARRI SkyPanel S120-C is added at 375 EUR + VAT/day whichever option you choose. Prep day and wrap day: 675 EUR + VAT.
How do I know what stage size I need?
Simple: how many looks are you shooting and how many people will be in the building at once? 1-2 looks with a crew of up to 20 people - the focused stage (~350 m²) is enough and you don't pay for empty space. 3 or more looks, a built set, a large number of dancers or parallel setups - the full 700 m² stage is the right choice. Do large sets and props fit on the stage?
Yes. The industrial door is 3×3 m, and drive-in access to the stage lets you unload any type of structure, furniture or heavy equipment without handling it up stairs or ramps.
Is there room for dancers and large crews?
The stage is 700 m² (32×22 m), enough for several simultaneous zones: main set, a buffer area for dancers, wardrobe and art department. Separate spaces for make-up (4 stations), 2 dressing rooms and a lounge for the artist and crew.
Can we shoot with sync sound or playback?
The stage is fully soundproofed. You can shoot with sync sound or playback without outside interference. The HVAC system is ultra-quiet and doesn't get onto the recording.
How many looks can be shot in a day?
It depends on the complexity of the set and the speed of the crew, but the 700 m² area lets you build a second set while the first one is rolling, significantly cutting down time between looks.
Where is the studio and how does my crew get there?
Strada Progresului 25, Cotroceni, Sector 5, Bucharest. 20 on-site parking spaces. Academia Militară metro station (M5) is a 4-minute walk, plus tram lines 1/10 and bus 601.
